Next week, April 27 is our last regular GEMS meeting, at church, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. I hope to see all the girls there! GEMS Sunday will be that very next Sunday, May 3. Here is the information you need for that:
On GEMS
Sunday
our goals are to thank the congregation for their support and
prayers, to share
what we’ve done this year, and to worship our Lord together
with the
congregation.
On GEMS
Sunday, please have your daughter(s) wear
their brown GEMS shirt and dark/khaki pants or skirt.
(Jeans are OK if they
are “nice” jeans). Otherwise black or blue pants, a denim
skirt, or a black or
blue skirt would be great. If you have no dark pants or
skirts, do not buy
something. Just wear your GEMS shirt with something nice. The
point is to look
nice when we stand in front of the congregation. Please do not
wear tight yoga
pants or leggings.
Please have your daughter(s)
go to the Fireside
Room at 10:10 a.m. that morning. Some
girls
are greeting and ushering and we will give them their name
tags there.
All the girls will sit together throughout the service. The
service begins at
10:30. You and your families are invited to join us for the
service.
TWO DAYS AFTER GEMS SUNDAY, ON TUESDAY, MAY 5, IS OUR TACO FUNDRAISER! I need all the girls in 4th - 8th grade to help as much as possible. PLEASE EMAIL ASAP to let me know if your daughter will be there. The dinner is from 5:00 - 7:00, so I am asking girls to come at 4:30, unless they have sports, and then I would like them to come ASAP after that. If we do not have enough girls to help, I will have to ask moms to come and assist the counselors.
Attached is a
flyer (you only need the first page) that you can use to
invite people to the taco fundraiser and hopefully it
answers any questions you may have.
Thank you so much
for all your support throughout the year and for the privilege
and honor of mentoring your daughters throughout this past
season of GEMS. All the counselors have loved and prayed for
your girls, and have considered their interaction with your
daughters something very special. We all love the GEMS
ministry and the opportunity it gives us to mentor young girls
into a living and dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.
See you on April
27, May 3, and May 5!!!
Blessings,
Julie Ball
