We are nearing the end of our season of GEMS! I can't even believe it! Here is some important information for what is coming up!
Parents:
Our GEMS
& Their GENT EVENT will be on April 13. Please have your
daughter and her dad (or uncle, or grandpa, or special family friend) meet us
at 7:00 p.m. at Berthusen Park. In case of rain, check your emails for a
location change (most likely to Bethel Church). An invitation will come home
with your girls at the next GEMS meeting, which is on March 23. We will
have another regular GEMS meeting on April 27.
GEMS Sunday will be May 3. On GEMS Sunday our goals are to thank the
congregation for their support and prayers, to share what we’ve done this year,
and to worship our Lord together with the congregation.
Please have your
daughter(s) wear their brown GEMS shirt
and dark/khaki pants or skirt. (Jeans are OK if they are “nice” jeans).
Otherwise black or blue pants, a denim skirt, or a black or blue skirt would be
great. If you have no dark pants or skirts, do not buy something. Just wear
your GEMS shirt with something nice. The point is to look nice when we stand in
front of the congregation. Please do not wear tight yoga pants or leggings.
Please have your daughter(s) go to the Fireside
Room at 10:10 a.m. that morning. Some
girls are greeting and ushering and we will give them their name tags there.
All the girls will sit together throughout the service. The service begins at
10:30. You and your families are invited to join us for the service.
I will send a
reminder email again as the time draws near. :)
Also, sometime
in May we will be having a Taco Dinner Fundraiser, at which the 5th –
8th grade girls will be asked to serve. Details will come to you
soon! You may invite anyone you’d like to this event, which will help us
continue to support our Esther School student and/or continue to fund our own
club events. The cost is by donation, and anyone is welcome!
Please feel
free to contact me with any questions. Thank you again for allowing your
daughter(s) to come to GEMS this year. It has been a privilege and a joy for
all the counselors.
Blessings!
