We are planning a very special GEMS Mother/Daughter Theme Event! Here
are the details:
Date
& Time: March 8 @ 6:30 p.m. – March 9 @ 8:30 a.m.
Where: Bethel
Church Basement
What: We are
inviting our moms to join us to learn about our theme, “Think Right: Win the
Fight” based on Philippians 4:8. You are invited to wear your PJ’s or “cozy
clothes” and the evening will begin with games and crafts, followed by studying
what God wants us to think about and how He can help us fight those “stinkin’
thinkin’” thoughts! After our snack at 9:00 p.m., the moms and all the 2nd
and 3rd graders will head for home. The 4th – 8th
graders are invited to spend the night at a slumber party at church! They will
have more small group discussion about the theme, watch a movie, and then get
some shut-eye! After breakfast, parents are asked to pick up their daughters at
church.
We are asking that
the 2nd and 3rd graders be taken home after the snack at
9:00 because experience tells us that it is more difficult for the younger ones
to spend the night at church. We hope to have an event like this again in the
future and by then, they’ll be old enough to stay overnight.
What to
bring: your mom, your Bible & a pen, a water bottle. If you are spending
the night, bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, clothes for Saturday
morning. If you are an early riser, there may be an early morning walk/jog
around town before breakfast, so bring your running shoes & clothes!
